Minsk Center of Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology conducted cell therapy for a patient with a blood cance
Three medical research centers worked on the innovation. Belarusian doctors performed a unique operation on a patient and introduced an innovative method of oncopathology treatment — CAR-T-cell therapy. And this is really a breakthrough in medicine. After all, oncology is a diagnosis that scares everyone. But if 30 years ago it was almost a verdict, and doctors could help only 20% of patients, today, thanks to new technologies, about 60% of cancer patients recover. And CAR-T cell therapy is one of the most promising and effective methods of cancer treatment today. The first cell product was received on 24 February and the same day the surgery with the help of CAR-T cell therapy was performed. The patient has already been discharged from the hospital. This innovative method of oncopathology treatment opens new possibilities for the treatment of malignant diseases.
