Ministry of anti-monopoly regulation and trade, retail networks extended social discount
Ministry of anti-monopoly regulation and trade signed a relevant agreement with 13 trade networks. Traditionally, the mechanism is extended for a quarter. The conditions – minus 10% of the cost for all socially important group of goods – remains the same. The regulator has noted the traders' social responsibility, as well as the networks' personal interest. The government keeps on monitoring the price situation in the market. Concomitantly, it observes the interests of both the customers and the retail chains. If the situation remains the same, the agreement will be extended again. It was first concluded in January, 2022 and then maintained several times. Over the term of the document being operational, more than two million discount cards were issued. The total social discount for the period made about 65 million Belarusian rubles.
