In Belarus, the rules of payment for housing and communal services for people who are not employed in the economy will be tightened
04.09.2025
The relevant changes will take effect on 1 October. Able-bodied citizens who are not employed in the economy will be charged for housing and communal services (gas, heat and water heating) at increased tariffs for the entire volume of consumption and for all owned or occupied residential premises. Previously, increased tariffs were applied only when registering a citizen in an apartment and took into account the number of people living together. The changes will also affect the procedure for implementing administrative procedures. It will be easier to apply for benefits, get an exemption from maintenance fees and reimbursement of elevator operating costs, as well as recalculation for some services.
