Grass fires are taken under control by the Ministry for Emergency Situations
One spark can cause a big fire. Firefighting units across the country are now in special mode. In many areas it is forbidden to visit forests. Spontaneous fires in ecosystems cause material damage. Thus, in Volozhin district, a plot of arable land caught fire due to drought. The fire spread to buildings. A non-residential house and outbuildings were burnt down. The Ministry for Emergency Situations reacted promptly and extinguished the fire. The fire destroyed 36 hectares of vegetation in the field. Specialists conduct spot monitoring of especially hot spots on the map of the country, tracking by satellites to quickly arrive on the spot and localise the fire. In Minsk region, there have already been 380 fires in ecosystems this year. Human negligence is still the main factor of emergencies.
