Free of charge blood donation campaign

Traditionally, the World Blood Donor Day is celebrated all over the world on 14 June. On the eve of the holiday, the Minsk organization of the Belarus Red Cross invited people willing to donate blood free of charge. In Belarus about 160.000 patients receive donor blood every year, and every third inhabitant of the planet needs donor blood at least once in his life. About 118.5 mln donations are collected annually worldwide, with 40% of them in high-income countries. In recent years, Belarus has recruited the maximum number of donors and blood components. The indicators are record-breaking. As a result — effective and timely assistance to patients.
