Foreigners will work in Belarus under new rules
The President of Belarus A. Lukashenko signed a Decree "On enhancing the role of employers in labor migration". The document strengthens the role of the employer, who attracts foreign labor force. An employment contract with a foreigner must be concluded no later than 30 days from the date of entry into Belarus (or obtaining a special permit for employment). The employer must appoint persons responsible for monitoring labor and conditions of stay of foreigners at the enterprise. Workers must be visited at their place of residence, and migrants must be given access to their apartments. The duties of a foreign worker now include knowledge of one of the state languages and strict adherence to the labor contract. In case of non-compliance with the provisions, the contract with the employee is terminated prematurely.
