Election of members of Belarus National Assembly's Council of Republic of 8th convocation

The composition of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus of the 8^th convocation was determined in Belarus. Eight representatives were elected in each region and in Minsk. Thus, the list of candidates from the capital includes representatives of various spheres: health care, education, mass media, acting senators. The proposed candidates for senators were unanimously approved. Voting was by secret ballot. Within two days the results of the voting will be passed on to the Central Election Commission. It will register the members of the Council of the Republic and issue certificates of election. The meeting of the Central Election Commission, which will summarize the results and set the date of the first meeting of the 8^th convocation, will be held on April 9. All senators, along with the new composition of the House of Representatives, will become delegates to the Belarusian People's Congress in its new constitutional status.
