Demographic security issues discussed at the expert advisory board
Trends, challenges and prospects of demographic security in the country were discussed at an off-site meeting of the expert advisory board under the Presidium of the Council of the Republic. The event was held at the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology. The senators and speakers focused on the issues of strengthening the status of the family, increasing the birth rate and preserving the health of the population. The Head of State has repeatedly drawn attention to these key points. After all, the fact that the home is important for our people is confirmed by the latest census. Today every third family has two children. There are more families with many children by almost 70%, which is more than 123.000 families. As Natalya Kochanova, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, noted, strengthening traditional family values is one of the key areas in the legislative work of both senators and key agencies.
