Common jewellery marketplace to be launched in the Union State
04.04.2025
Belarus and Russia will sign an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of work with precious metals and stones. It is planned to launch a marketplace, which will allow jewellery manufacturers to bring their products to foreign markets. The pilot version is to be launched as early as 2025. The Eurasian Development Bank will provide support. The two countries also discussed their participation in the Kimberley Process. This is an international trade regime aimed at preventing the flow of diamonds sold by rebel groups or their allies to finance conflicts. Mutual recognition of assay marks will make cooperation much easier. Jewellery that has been tested in Belarus, for example, will not require additional certification when sold in Russia.
