A park dedicated to Archbishop Aristarchus has been opened in Gomel.

A renovated public garden named after Archbishop Aristarkh (Stankevich) was inaugurated in the city above Sozh. Bishop Aristarchus was the first head of the Gomel Diocese, which was restored in 1990, where he served for 22 years. At one time, he became a laureate of the prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus "For Spiritual Rebirth", as well as an honorary citizen of Gomel. Under his leadership, 17 churches and 20 parishes were opened in the regional center. The renovated square is intended to become a modern recreation place for citizens and a venue for cultural and social events. Special attention is paid to the creation of a zone for wedding ceremonies.
