Belarusian doctors have introduced a new method of stroke treatment

Its essence is in stem cell transplantation. The experiment is being conducted under the project of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The development of scientist Y. Shanko is already suitable for the Ministry of Healthcare. Stem cell transplantation is used in cases where traditional methods are not effective enough. For example, in cases of serious consequences of a stroke, Parkinson's disease or traumatic brain injury. Using this method, 50 patients have already been cured in the emergency hospital canteen. The new type of care can become part of a comprehensive recovery after severe neurological diseases. Stroke is getting younger: the diagnosis is made even at the age of 20. The causes are different, most often these are congenital vascular phenomena. In general, 30-35 thousand cases of stroke are recorded annually in Belarus.
