02.04.2025
Every nation, every country has the right to choose its own path of development, said the National Coordinator for the Sustainable Development Goals. S. Khomenko spoke at the regional forum of the UN Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva. This is reported by the Foreign Ministry of Belarus. According to S. Khomenko, the result of the policy pursued by Minsk is the 30th place of Belarus in the world in terms of achieving the SDGs. Our country has fulfilled four of them ahead of schedule — poverty eradication, clean water and sanitation, reducing inequality, preservation of terrestrial ecosystems. But on the way to achieving these goals Belarus faces threats and challenges that hinder sustainable development, the diplomat said. S. Khomenko also congratulated those present on the forthcoming 80th anniversary of the Victory over fascism. The diplomat called on the international community to unitedly support peaceful resolution of any issues and join efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for the benefit of countries and peoples.
