Belarus proposes to improve the system of pension provision within the EAEU
Belarus is chairing the EAEU this year. Traditionally, our country is an active participant of integration associations and the author of initiatives that concern many areas. The main principle of the Union is freedom of movement of goods, services, capital and labour. This applies not only to employment, but also to the certainty of future pension payments. In the EAEU, a profile agreement has been in place since 2019, which makes it possible to receive a pension while being in any of the five member states. However, there is still work to be done. Belarus proposes to improve the system using new technologies. Recall, the Agreement between the countries provides for the possibility of summing up the length of service, acquired in other countries, to determine the right to a pension. The citizen can choose where to receive the payment: either in the country where he/she lives or in the country that assigns the pension.
