Belarus is addressing the challenges of promoting the inclusion of Sustainable Development Goals in the regional planning system
Belarus is an example of effective practical realization of the Sustainable Development Goals in the country. This was stated by Sergei Khomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of Belarus, at the meeting of the Coordination Committee for the Implementation of the international technical assistance project to achieve the SDGs. According to him, within the framework of the implementation of relevant activities, the tasks to promote the inclusion of the Sustainable Development Goals in the system of regional planning, as well as in the development and functioning of the system of data collection, monitoring and evaluation under the SDGs are being successfully solved. A number of socio-economic projects are planned for 2025, such as the creation of a training manual on sustainable development, retraining courses, voluntary university reviews on the implementation of sustainable principles, international youth forums, improvement of the system for assessing progress in the implementation of the SDGs. As a reminder, Belarus is among the top 30 countries in terms of implementation and achievement of the 2030 Agenda at the end of last year.
