An oasis of nature and beekeeping appeared in the Lelchitsky district
A tourist site of global importance was presented in the Gomel Oblast. The unique project "Oasis of natural Monuments and wild-bee farming" is the winner of the civil initiatives competition. Dozens of facts about the flora and fauna of the Polesie region can now be found on the ecological site of the Dzerzhinsk village in the Lelchitsky district. The facility promises to become a powerful incentive for the development of local tourism and the popularization of wild-bee farming, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The uniqueness of the initiative also lies in its scientific component. This region is one of the main centers of the oak forests of Belarus. Thanks to beekeeping, many centuries-old trees have been preserved in the vicinity of the village, which meet the requirements of a natural monument, but still remain little known.
