An international conference on fruit growing is being held in Minsk

Import substitution in the context of food security. The international conference "100 years of scientific fruit growing in Belarus", which brought together experts from five countries, is taking place in Minsk. For example, scientists from Russia and Kazakhstan brought samples of promising varieties of various crops. One of the tasks is cryopreservation and preservation of genetic material. Belarusian agricultural scientists are creating new varieties of apples that can be stored until next year's harvest. In addition, such heat-loving crops of Belarusian breeding as apricot and cherry are in demand. In total, over the century, Russian scientists have created more than 250 varieties of fruit and berry crops.
