"Zolotoi Vitiaz" awarded to Gorky Theater

The production of "The Idiot" of the National Academic Drama Theater named after Gorky has won the Grand Prix of the 21^st International Theater Forum "Zolotoi Vitiaz". Its chairman, People's Artist of Russia, film director and actor Nikolai Burlyaev personally arrived to present the prestigious award. In the competition the Belarusian artists competed with the Maly Theater, Vakhtangov Theater, Youth Theater on Fontanka, two dozen performances from 14 cities of Russia, Belarus and Serbia in total. The classical play was staged at the Russian Theater by Serbian director and actress Ivona Zigon, who based her work on the production by her father Stevo Zigon.
