Restoration of the iconostasis of the Assumption Cathedral in Zhirovichi continues

The restoration of the iconostasis of the Assumption Cathedral in Zhirovichi is more than 30% complete. Specialists from Belrestavratsiya are working on the restoration of the XVII century monument. This year, over 3 million belarusian rubles have been allocated from the Presidential Fund to continue work on preserving historical and cultural heritage. The size of the Dormition Cathedral's iconostasis is impressive. Its height, including the cross, is approximately 13 meters, and its width is almost 9 meters. Restorers are removing between 5 and 11 layers of later paint. The main goal is to preserve the spirit of the time. The large-scale restoration of the ancient iconostasis of the Zhirovich Monastery is planned to be completed by the end of the year.
