Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore turns 105 years old

Today, its collections contain about 290 thousand items. Only the National History Museum boasts bigger collection. The institution has several branches: the Ilya Repin Museum-Estate "Zdravnevo", the Art Museum, and the Museum of the History of Private Collecting. In addition, work is underway to create a new branch at the former governor's palace in Vitebsk - an architectural monument of the 18^th century. The halls of the main building will house the exhibition "Vitebsk Gubernsky". The wings of the palace will be used as galleries. In the future, the new branch of the regional museum of local lore will become a platform for holding atmospheric ceremonial events.
