The creator of the legendary "Verasy" celebrates his anniversary

Composer Vasili Rainchik is 75 today. All-Union popularity came to the maestro after joint tours with Dean Reed. Acquaintance with the American performer at Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) made it possible to broadcast "The Beatles" performances on Soviet TV screens. At the same time the laureate of foreign contests created "Dougi Dzen" ("Long day"). And his anthem "Kalykhanka" is already known to several generations of Belarusians. Rainchik is the author of more than 120 songs. He was the first to notice the future honoured artists of independent Belarus. By 10 March the Youth Variety Theatre is preparing a surprise concert for the maestro.
