Negliub Textile Tradition in UNESCO
10.12.2025
Negliub Textile Tradition has officially become a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The certificate award ceremony took place in New Delhi. Representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Culture defended the inclusion of the Negliub Textile Tradition on the prestigious list. The heritage is in urgent need of protection. Only three craftswomen remain who preserve this weaving tradition. Ukraine opposed the inclusion, claiming the tradition is also characteristic of their country. However, the Ukrainian delegation's arguments proved unconvincing.
