International Music Contest "Music of Hope"

Regional center Gomel summarized the results of the international contest "Music of Hope". Teenagers from Belarus and Russia took part in the "Talent Olympics". For several days 64 young talents fought for the titles of the best violinist and cellist. Traditional diplomas of laureates and prizes of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus on supporting talented youth had been prepared for the winners. The first "Music of Hope" was held in April 1996. The main purpose of the contest was to support young talents in the areas affected by the Chernobyl disaster. About 2.5 thousand young musicians have taken part in the festival over the time of its existence.
