Festival of organ music Ars Magna Organi opened in Pinsk
Over 50 free concerts will be held in 5 Catholic churches of Pinsk, Ivanovo, Ruzhany, Medvedichy, and Novogrudok. Pinsk is the pivot of the high-scale cultural event. It is in the Pinsk cathedral which boasts the second largest organ in Belarus, that the most of the concerts will be held: 23 solo organ ones and 6 concerts of chamber orchestras. The significant musical forum was opened by the Minsk chamber soloists – the only band in Belarus which majors in performing baroque and early classical music in a historically oriented manner. A big organ academy will be held within the framework of the festival, with teachers from Austria and Russia invited, as well as 20 concert organists from Belarus, Russia, Austria and China. The listeners will have a unique opportunity to appreciate not only the instrument’s sound but also the preforming technique. The festival season will be held until October, 13. On this day, concerts of organ music will be held in Pinsk and Ruzhany.
