"Eugene Onegin" on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre in Minsk

A pearl of Russian classical art. The Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus hosted a screening of a new stage version of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera "Eugene Onegin". The masterpiece, based on Alexander Pushkin's novel of the same name, plunges into the atmosphere of Russian life of the 19th century. The legendary production is the eighth incarnation on the Great Stage. The opera was first performed in 1879. The show is timed to coincide with the International Theatre Day, which was celebrated the day before. Onegin will return to the stage in a month.
