Belaya Vezha gathers guests
The XXVIII International Festival Belaya Vezha opened in Brest. Groups from 7 countries take part in the theater forum: Belarus, Russia, Azerbaijan, Denmark, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The repertoire is multi-genre — dramas, comedies, melodramas. A total of 22 performances from 22 theater groups in 3 languages — Belarusian, Russian and Komi. The shows will be held at 5 venues in the city above Bug. Most of the performances are based on classical literature. The festival began with a modern interpretation of Ivan Turgenev's classic novel "Fathers and Children" staged by Belarusian directors. A symbolic art object was opened near the Brest Academic Drama Theater. These are bronze masks, which have been symbolizing tragic and comic characters since antiquity.
