Belarusian potato dishes may be added to the UNESCO List
16.01.2026
Belarusian specialists are developing a national dossier, "Grated Potato Dishes: Traditions of Preparation and Consumption in Belarus," for nomination to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Currently, Belarus is represented on the list by four tangible and seven intangible heritage items. This enhances the country's prestige, making these heritage sites more recognizable and attractive to tourists. Over the past two and a half decades, Belarus has been actively restoring its national heritage, devoting colossal resources to its maintenance and preservation.
