The Council of the Republic will continue to promote the initiative to create an interparliamentary dimension in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The importance of this was noted by the Chairman of the Permanent Commission of the Council of the Republic on International Affairs and National Security, S. Aleynik, in connection with the 25th anniversary of the founding of the SCO.

S. Aleynik said that during this period, the organization has transformed into one of the most powerful engines of global politics and economics, based on the "Shanghai spirit" - the principles of mutual trust, equality and respect for the diversity of cultures.
