Belarus Open Swimming Cup has kicked off in Minsk

A total of 415 athletes from Belarus, Russia, Azerbaijan and Israel are competing for 42 medal sets. On the first day of the tournament, swimmers competed for 10 medal sets, with the hosts winning two. Ivan Shamshurin and Alesia Akinchyts won individual gold medals. On 16 July, the athletes will determine the winners in nine events. Belarus Open Swimming Cup will conclude on 18 July. For the national team's leaders the home tournament serves as a test of strength before the European Aquatics Championships in Paris, where the swimming competitions will be held from 10 to 16 August.
