This major upset over Simona Halep helped the Belarusian to book the clash with Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska (No.24) in the semifinals. In the first round, Aryna Sabalenka outplayed Hsieh Su-wei from Chinese Taipei (No. 36) and after that she defeated Bernarda Pera of the United States, World No. 70. The Adelaide International will be over on 18 January. The prize fund of the competition is $848,000.
