The republican action "Give the forest a new life!" is taking place in Belarus. The main front of works is unfolding in the Gomel and Mogilev regions, which suffered the most from the summer disaster. The task for this spring is to restore all windy and stormy areas. On the whole in the country it is almost 7.000 hectares. The day before, a labour troop led by the First Deputy Minister of Forestry Aleksandr Dragun worked on one of the woodlots of Solonskoe forestry of Zhlobin leskhoz. The result — 15.000 young trees were planted on the area of 2.5 hectares. A total of 24.000 hectares of young forests are planned to be planted in Belarus this year.
