Belarus has moved up to the 32nd place in the world rating of environmental efficiency, ahead of all EAEU countries. In Gomel region, 115 enterprises use the generated waste. For example, the biomechanical plant of household secondary resources processes about 2.5 tonnes of high-pressure propylene per day. The figure for the year is approximately 1.200 tonnes. From the waste the plant produces elements of sewage wells: bottoms, rings and manholes. Additionally, a modern complex for processing solid domestic waste is being built near Gomel. The design capacity is to process 220.000 tonnes of garbage per year. Waste from Gomel and six neighboring districts is planned to be brought here. Commissioning is scheduled for 2026. It will allow almost doubling the percentage of recovery of secondary material resources.
