Thousands of the heirs to the Great Victory met yesterday at the Mound of Friendship in Verkhnedvinsk District of Vitebsk Oblast. The memorial complex, located at the junction of the borders of Belarus, Russia and Latvia, is a tribute to the partisan movement that operated in this area during the Great Patriotic War. Commemorative events were held there for the 67th time. Grateful descendants laid flowers at the monuments, lit a partisan fire and played the legendary "Katyusha". Performances by creative groups and a military brass band were also held, outdoor exhibitions were on display.
