The memorial "Mound of Glory" has been granted the status of a monument of international significance

The memorial was previously classified as a category 3 site of historical and cultural significance at the regional level. Category 1 denotes international status. It is awarded to unique sites possessing global cultural, aesthetic, and documentary value. The "Mound of Glory" was erected to commemorate the heroism displayed by Soviet soldiers and officers during the liberation of Belarus and to honour the successful conclusion of the operation "Bagration". The monument stands on the site of pivotal battles. Over the sixty years since the memorial complex opened, it has been visited by approximately 40 million people from more than 100 countries.
