The list of settlements and facilities located in radioactive contamination zones in Belarus has been updated

The corresponding resolution of the Council of Ministers was signed by Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin. It was based on the results of long-term monitoring, which documented a steady improvement in radiological situation. 177 villages and towns were removed from the list, including Gomel, Luninets, Lelchitsy, and Ivye. In agreement with the Head of State, the resolution is scheduled to enter into force on 1 January 2027, and free meals will be provided until June 2027 for minors living and/or studying in educational institutions located in areas being de-contaminated.
