The incidence of viral hepatitis is declining in Belarus

28 July marks World Hepatitis Day. In Belarus the incidence of viral hepatitis B and C is declining. Approximately 4.000 cases a year have been registered recently. Belarusian healthcare system has created all the necessary conditions to ensure that everyone can receive early diagnosis of hepatitis and treatment if necessary. Chronic hepatitis B and C can silently cause severe liver damage, including cirrhosis and cancer. However, they can be prevented, controlled, and, in case of hepatitis C, completely cured. Every year in our country patients with this virus receive the necessary treatment, the effectiveness of which exceeds 95%.
