The first snow sculpture festival has ended in Gomel

During these winter days Gomel became the capital of ice sculptures. Before the eyes of the townspeople, dense snow blocks turned into fabulous images. Artists from all over Belarus worked with the cold material including novice craftsmen representatives of the Union of Artists of Belarus and students of the Academy of Arts. Each figure impresses with its impressive size. Sharp objects were used as tools. Difficult working conditions and subzero temperatures did not prevent the sculptors from realizing their plans. All participants of the festival were awarded with commendations. It is planned that the event in the city over the Sozh will become an annual event.
