The Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour of the XII century was opened in Polotsk after reconstruction

The shrine was built with the blessing of Venerable Euphrosyne of Polotsk. President A. Lukashenko has sent an address to the residents and guests of Polotsk, noting that the implementation of such projects makes a significant contribution to our common cause — strengthening the historical memory of the Belarusian people. Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalia Kochanova took part in the opening ceremony of the temple. This year the Saint Eufrosyne Monastery, where the shrine is located, will celebrate its 900^th anniversary. From the outside the building of the temple has been preserved in the appearance of the XIX century. The interior decoration — original fresco paintings — dates back to the XII century. The renewed appearance of the temple on the territory of the monastery is a priceless gift to all Belarusians who live under the patronage of the holy intercessor.
