In Brest, a unique architectural monument – the ruins of a Bernardine Convent – is being saved from destruction. A museum space will eventually be created there, but in the meantime a large-scale construction is underway in the Volyn Fortification of Brest Fortress, where the historical site is located. During the restoration, finds are being discovered: from shell casings and cartridges to glass flasks and ampoules. During the war, the building served as a military hospital. An investigative team is working on the site, inventorying the recovered items. The ruins themselves will be completely cleaned and restored.
