A classroom for a new oil extraction specialization has been opened at the Gomel State Chemical-Technological College. Upon completion of the course, graduates will be awarded the qualification of "Technician-Technologist". The first 28 students will begin training for the professions of assistant driller (production and exploratory drilling), assistant driller (well workover), repair mechanic, and oil and gas production operator as early as 1 September. The educational process is maximally practice-oriented. The majority of training sessions are scheduled to be conducted at the production sites of Belorusneft, with guaranteed employment awaiting the graduates. The duration of study is 2 years and 10 months. Specialists for the oil industry will be trained at the secondary specialized education level in Belarus for the first time.
