On the eve of Victory Day, a delegation from Georgia arrived in Berestovitsa district to honor the memory of a compatriot officer who gave his life defending the Belarusian land. As a sign of respect for the glorious history of the two peoples, the guests from Georgia brought the land from the small homeland of Geronti Tsitaishvili to Prinyomansky district. In July 1944, the commander of the 250th Motorized Rifle Division participated in the fighting in the area of Malaya Berestovitsa. The hero's feat is remembered and honored: a street was named after him, and a monument was erected at the place of his death, near which a memorial meeting was held.
