The Grodno City Gymnasium named after A.I.Dubko works actively to keep the historical memory alive and popularise knowledge about the war. For example, a museum of the history of the Great Patriotic War was created here by the efforts of teachers, pupils and their parents. Recently the exposition about the genocide of the Belarusian people has been renewed. The gymnasium knows about the war not by hearsay. The first Russian school in Western Belarus was opened in 1939 and literally sent its teachers and senior pupils to the front. A reminder of the Great Patriotic War is the obelisk on the threshold of the gymnasium. It was unveiled on the 40th anniversary of the beginning of the war. And today every day they remember the heroes who managed to survive. The history of the main Victory for the nation is being revived on the initiative of schoolchildren. High school students plan to hold lessons of Memory at the new exposition for their younger comrades. The dialogues will be moderated independently. At the same time, they make their proposals to replenish the museum's funds. Gymnasts have already started to conduct search work.
