President congratulated servicemen of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

Belarus celebrates the Day of Internal Troops. Their more than a century-long history of faithful service to the country and the people, and its brightest pages are the heroic fight against the enemy during the foreign military intervention and the Great Patriotic War, participation in the establishment of peaceful life in the post-war years, establishment of law and order and prevention of destabilisation of the situation in the country. In his congratulatory message, the Head of State emphasised: "Today, the internal troops are a combat-ready military formation with professional personnel, modern equipment and weaponry, which daily ensures law and order on the streets of our cities, detains and escorts criminals, guards especially important state facilities and correctional institutions, defuses explosive devices and ammunition, and counteracts illegal armed groups".
