Brest is celebrating the 82nd anniversary of its liberation from Nazi invaders. Two murals were ceremoniously unveiled in the city to mark the anniversary. One is "Partisans of the Brest Oblast". The large-scale painting depicts a man and a woman determinedly working to bring Victory closer. Equally striking, but in a contemporary style, is the mural "Beloved Brest." A stylish and contrasting original painting features the city's symbols and main landmarks — from the famous Alley of Lanterns, the train station, and the stele to the Brest Fortress. The two art objects unite a heroic past and a bright future.
