Memories of Metropolitan Filaret

Belarus remembers Metropolitan Filaret, the first Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus. Today is the 90^th anniversary of his birth. Through Filaret's labours hundreds of churches have been opened in the country, church and monastic life has been revived, the ascetics of piety who lived on our land have been glorified as saints. The Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts took place in the Holy Spirit Cathedral. A number of commemorative events are also planned at the Minsk Theological Academy, as well as the opening of exhibitions dedicated to Metropolitan Filaret.
