President Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated the Catholics and Protestants of Belarus on Easter. Catholics are celebrating the Resurrection of Christ. Yesterday churches acrossBelarushosted services and the consecration of Easter dishes. Today, representatives of the second largest denomination in the country are marking the beginning of the Octave. The seven days after the Easter Sunday are considered especially festive with special services held in churches. The Easter celebrations will last for 40 days.Yesterday, Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Belarusian Catholics and Protestants celebrating Easter on 27 March and wished every believer the joys of the Resurrection.
