The growth of tension near the western borders of Belarus and Russia is unprecedented. The Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff held a briefing in Moscow. Summarizing the results of the joint preparation, it was noted that the strongest external pressure from the West, the strengthening of the NATO contingent on the western borders of the Union State, the unstable situation in the Middle East, the Caucasus and Central Asian regions, had a serious impact on the fact that in a number of regions that fall within the CSTO area of responsibility, the risk of military conflicts may significantly increase. All this requires the CSTO increased attention and readiness for an adequate and effective response. Also at the briefing, the plan of the organization's exercises for 2025 was announced. Three of them are planned to be held in September in Belarus.
