Recognition of its educational and research potential on the international stage has propelled the university to a new level of global visibility. For the first time, Belarusian State Medical University (BSMU) has entered the main list of the global ranking of the world's best universities, compiled annually by the British Times Higher Education (THE), securing a spot in the 2001+ group. Universities are evaluated based on 18 indicators grouped into five categories: teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry engagement. To be included in the ranking, a university must meet strict criteria, including the publication of at least 1.000 research papers in the Scopus database over the past five years and a minimum of 100 publications annually.
