Doctors at the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre of Cardiology performed a surgical procedure for chronic aortic dissection for the first time in Belarus. Previously. It's a unique procedure for the country, this type of surgery had only been performed abroad. A total of three surgeries were scheduled. The last, the most complex, lasted over 10 hours. Approximately 15 new cases of this condition are registered in Belarus annually. Statistically, this translates to 1-2 patients per 100.000 requiring surgery.
