For almost 4 decades Belarus has managed to restore and ensure the development of the exclusion zones, and thus return people to many Chernobyl-affected regions. However, the topic of Chernobyl consequences will remain relevant in the long term. The country will have to comprehensively analyse the results of the revival of the affected lands. Belarusian border guards are guarding the resettled territories round the clock today. Modern equipment and facilities help to limit the time of stay of servicemen on the territory of the Polesie Reserve. Thus, the border outpost "Narovlya" — is a young unit. It started to protect the southern borders here in autumn 2018. In March this year, a new complex was opened. Under the supervision of the outpost is a 62-kilometre stretch of the border with Ukraine. 16 kilometres of the protected area is the Pripyat River. According to statistics, the main offenders here are poachers.
