The crime rate in Belarus is declining; this trend was observed in 2025 and has continued through the first eight months of 2026. Prosecutor General Dmitry Gora announced this ahead of a joint session of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic. As part of efforts to oversee legal compliance, more than 13.000 inspections were conducted, and over 59.000 individuals and legal entities were held liable. Regarding the fight against extremism, a decrease in such crimes has been noted in the country. Over the past year and a half, prosecutors have supported the state prosecution in more than 2.000 criminal cases of this category, involving 2.500 individuals.
